Loving Cheese.

OOOOh................Indian on a Friday night. What a great British tradition. Trouble was we ate a tad too late and as usual, a tad too much. So much for a lazy Saturday morning. I suppose it's always worth checking the weather at 6am with a mug of tea, skipped the biscuit (still no room). There's a fantastic Indian in Martock, Aysha's, you can't go wrong.
Anyway, just thought I'd mention a few things:

Rex the Mouse and friends are going to exhibit themselves at the Somerset Extravaganza Market - August 9th in Glastonbury. He's even made it onto the poster, fame and fortune at last!

I'm looking for some old Humbrol 50ml tins: anyone got some. I make a little Mouse jumping out of a tin covered in paint but can't make enough.

More new designs are making their way to the website. Bookmarks and small kinky giraffes spring to mind. My giraffes seem to be very popular right now.

That's about it.

Glastonbury 2009

I would like to say 'I'm too old for this sort of thing' but how can I when the likes of Rolf Harris, Neil Young, Brucy and so many more, who put on fantastic performances. I think it's all those late nights and a liquid diet.
Rex did well though although he's looking a bit rough right now.
Yes. The bogs are still the same!

Off to Glastonbury!

Well, sorry everyone. It's been absolutely ages since I last wrote anything. Even now, I need some sleep. So I won't be long.
Glasto again........feel a bit like an excited child.
Made a few new sculptures to celebrate another music fest. It's the only festival I do and a bargain being just 25mins away. Four weeks of solid sculpture production will shortly bring rewards a-plenty(if there's not too much wet stuff).
This is the type of thing I've been making for Glastonbury....lots of seriously happy animals. They've been great fun to design.
I hope to see you there, you'll find me in between the Band Stand and the Jazz Lounge. I've ordered a huge flag with Rex on it. A beacon!
Cheers for now, Chris

In general...things are poor!

Thank goodness the weather's brilliant. It's keeping me from going insane for sure.
Found this great website last week: http://www.recyclart.org/ it's full of amazing recycled stuff. It's completely the opposite of my work, very inspirational.
On another note, I was trying to photo some new sculptures this morning. Not a good start to the day. I've made a smaller than usual cat holding a mouse and a dog too. The camera, which I can always rely on, has forgotten how to focus. Maybe it was a little too early in the morning. Gave up.
I'm going to have another look at that recyclart site, it's all changed since last week.

www.rexmouse.com updated

There's been some progress with my website...bit too cold to head to the shed, so I've been adding some new designs. Looking to make a few more 'corporate gift' sales this year.
When I have made it into the shed, I've been adding extra recycled metal to my sculptures.

Made a new range of DOG sculptures too. Only a few have made it to the website so far.

Learner Drivers watch out, there's a Rex about.

Valentines, just a distant memory.

I noticed my last blog was on 14th Feb....how romantic. Now the rush for 'Loving Rexes' is over, it's back to the grind stone. Have to build up stock for Glastonbury and keep the new shops/galleries full of mice, dogs and cats.

This is one of my most popular designs
...the coaster.

If anyone knows of a great place to sell my sculptures, like Mickey...I'm all ears. I have a few creative juices flowing at the moment, time for some new designs.

Click on the link to visit my website, there's loads of fun sculpture at really good prices.

Thanks Loopy, you're the first person to comment, and all positive too.
Cheers for now, Chris

Back after so long.

Yes, it's been far too long. I'm absolutely awful at keeping up. Have noticed that there are a couple of followers. Thanks, although, is it just because I'm from Martock?
I have been a busy, busy bee. Many mice have left the premises. All my customers are happy, don't know whether that's got anything to do with Rex the Mouse. Let's just believe it is all to do with Rex.
It's Valentines Day, yippee or not. You can't please all the people all the time.
Have been making many romantic rodents for the 30 or so galleries and shops that stock my sculptures. Also trying to tempt a few more outlets to sell Rex the Mouse.
Made a fantastic chess set before Christmas for Touch of Glass in Yeovil. Cats v's Dogs with mice as the pawns. Most is made from recycled steel. It's in their window, looking great. WOW, managed to upload a photo. If you're passing, go and have a look. They have quite a few pieces of mine.
Hoping to be at Glastonbury again(will be the 3rd year in a row, near the Jazz Lounge) selling Rex and the rest. Last year was entertaining, luckily very little photographic evidence to go with it. Have to sell a few more mice to raise the required sums of money.
Here's a special Valentines image for you!
Looking forward to seeing some more knitted hexagons, if I have time , will try and look out for some blogs of interest! Cheers, Chris
